Granny Smith Apples Kill 95% of Cervical Cancer Cells in Vitro: The pomace from Granny Smith apples (left over after making apples juice) was shown in this study to kill up to 95% of human breast cancer cells, and also was highly toxic to colon cancer and breast cancer cells. What makes apples so powerful? They contain high amounts of potent cancer-fighting compounds such as phloridzin, quercetin, proanthocyanidins and oligosaccharides.   • Heart Disease: Eating apples is associated with a lower risk of death from heart disease, an association that’s thought to be related to their content of antioxidant flavonoids.11
